Biden Administration Announces USD207 Mil For Fertilizer, Rural Clean-Energy Projects

The Biden administration is spending USD207 mil on domestic fertilizer and renewable energy projects, as part of an effort to boost supplier competition for U.S. farmers and ranchers and help lower energy costs for agricultural producers. USDA has awarded USD50 mil to be split among seven projects in seven states through the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP), which was created to help expand U.S. fertilizer production in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine war. Additionally, USDA is awarding USD157 mil for 675 projects located in 42 states through the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP).
