Capital A Bhd chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes has said that AirAsia will soon charge a sustainability fee in its airfares, which will be used exclusively for carbon offset projects. The group will prioritise investments in Asia through initiatives like the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), he said. This additional fee will join the list of charges imposed by AirAsia and AirAsia X, which include booking service fees, refund fees, counter check-in fees, infant fees and fuel surcharges.
