Malaysia’s 2023 Budget will focus on more sustainable subsidy management and strengthening the country's resilience against future shocks, according to Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul. This approach comes against a backdrop of increasing inflationary pressures, especially on commodity and food prices. Themed "Strengthening Recovery, Facilitating Reforms Towards Sustainable Socio-Economic Resilience of Keluarga Malaysia", the Budget will also continue to focus on people’s well-being post-Covid-19, particularly in terms of income and social protection.
