150,000 Carbon Credits Sold At Inaugural Bursa Malaysia Carbon Exchange Action
A total of 150,000 carbon credits registered with certifying body Verra were sold at the inaugural auction of Bursa Malaysia’s carbon exchange. Technology-based carbon credits were oversubscribed and reached a clearing price of RM18.50 per credit. 50,000 technology-based credits were auctioned based on a biogas and power generation project in China. Meanwhile, nature-based carbon credits were sold at RM 68 per credit for a total of 100,000 credits. These were based on a national park and wildlife sanctuary project in Cambodia.
