About the Summit The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals adopted by Leaders of UN member countries worldwide provides a road map for sustainable and inclusive development necessary for Peace, Prosperity and the Planet. The COVID Pandemic has given greater importance to the SDG’s as key priorities for mankind in the new normal.

The Malaysia Sustainability Leadership Summit 2021 is a pre- eminent event to focus on the challenges of sustainability and the importance of sustainable leadership to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s). This will be a high- level Forum which will bring together key stakeholders to work together for sustainable and inclusive development – Members of Parliament, Government, Business, Civil Society and Thought Leaders.

The Forum will prioritize the tripartite partnership between Government, Business and Civil Society and bring in Parliament as the 4th key partner. This year with COVID-19 pandemic impacting on lives and livelihood, health and economy, strengthening partnerships and collaboration becomes more essential. COVID-19 will impact on SDG 1 poverty as well as SDG 2 on zero hunger, SDG 3 health and well-being. There is also a vital need to focus on sustainable cities (SDG II), the environment and climate action.

This Forum will also focus on SDG 16 – peace, justice and strong institutions and SDG 17 – partnerships for the goals. It is proposed that this Sustainability Leadership Summit be held in Parliament to give it greater importance. Last year, KSI and the CSO-SDG Alliance also hosted the SDG Forum in Parliament.
